		<description>Human being have evolved to be hearing mammals. Hearing is the typical i.e "normal" genetic trait. To be born without hearing is an an evolutionary anomoly, i.e a disability.
To reject this is ludicrous and to equate it with being born black frankly offensive. 
Deaf people are accepted as equal in law and society at large, but many clearly feel the need to socialise and interact primarily with others in the so-called "deaf community". Yes there is certainly a deaf culture, but that is largely because deafness does restrict the range of activities and participation available.
If I was in a meeting with 100 or even 10000 deaf people, I would likey be disadvanted because I cannot sign. What it wouldn't mean is that I am disabled.... the 10000 other would still have that status.</description>
